Two Door Cinema Club

Two Door Cinema Club is a band from Northern Ireland who are quickly making waves across the U.S. Traveling and opening for Phoenix earlier this year, they showed America what they were all about. Forming just in 2009, TDCC decided to leave their university positions in Europe to pursue a full time music career after increased popularity on their myspace page, and rightfully so. Their debut album, Tourist History, was released in late February in Ireland and March 1st elsewhere, reaching a peak position of 22 and 46 in Ireland and the U.K. respectively. The video below is their single "Something Good Can Work." I suggest checking out their myspace page and listening to more of their music.

Iglu and Hartly, Since October, Keane

Iglu & Hartly is an upcoming alternative rock band with a unique sound. Forming in the United States from three members that met at college and soon dropped out to form this band, Iglu and Hartly soon got signed by Mercury Records from the UK and quickly started to gain international fame. This is their first single to hit mainstream and make charts across the world, "In this City."

Turning to a more hard rock side, Since October is a relatively new band just now gaining recognition mainstream for their works. Since October is a christian "post-hardcore" band who signed with Tooth and Nail Records back in 2007. They continue to grow as their newest single is getting more and more popular. This is, "Guilty."

Keane is an English piano rock band that has been around for some quite some time now. First formed in 1995, they are still together releasing albums. Their latest studio album, "Perfect Symmetry," was released on October 13th, 2008. This is my favorite song from the album, "Spiralling."

Puscifer

Puscifer is a side project of Maynard James Keenan. They are a bit different from his other bands Tool and A Perfect Circle, though they do have their similarities. Puscifer seems to me to be more eccentric and darker than the rest of the stuff Keenan has produced. His first album, "V is for Vagina," did fairly well, though I did feel it was an underrated album. Their newest song, "The Mission," is looking to be a good start to what could be a new album.

Hinder, Pop Evil, Anew Revolution

Hinder made their return with their latest album, "Take it to the Limit," which was released on November 4th of last year. Their first single, "Use Me," made waves across the nation, gaining national recognition, and even reaching the 3rd place on the U.S. main rock charts. Their newest single, "Up All Night," strives to gain the same recognition. Judging from a few listenings of the song, I wouldn't be suprised if it did.

Pop evil is an up and coming mainstream band. Though they have been around since 2001, they have not received much recognition until late last year. They are currently rising up fast in the industry, however, which singles such as "Hero," "Somebody Like You," and this one..."100 in a 55."

Anew Revolution is also an up and coming band. They, not unlike Pop Evil, are just beginning to be heard across the nation mainstream. Their first single, "Done," was fairly popular, and their newest single, "Generation," helps to push them over the edge.

Hoobastank, Red, Papa Roach

Red is a fairly new, up and coming christian rock band that is really starting to make waves in the rock industry. With catchy rhythms and a great singer heading the band, it is easy to see why these guys are rising fast. It never really occured to me that these guys were a christian rock band until I really heard about it. Most of you might know these guys from their most known single, "Already Over." Today I will bring you a new song off their newest album set to be released February 10th, 2009 entitled, "Death of Me."

Hoobastank is marking their return on January 27th with their newest album, "For(N)ever." Most known for their hit single, "The Reason," their latest single is a bit more upbeat. It is entitled, "My turn."

Papa Roach is also making their first album since 2006 which is set to be released in March of this year. I recently heard their newest single and was impressed enough with it to share it with you guys. Let me know what you think. This is, "Hollywood Whore."

Hed PE, Trapt, The Grammar Club

Hed PE is back again this year with their release of New World Orphans, their eighth upcoming studio album set to be released on January 13th. I got a taste of their newest song, "Renegades," and couldn't get enough. I really like the unique style that Hed PE has with their music.

Trapt has had some good success with their latest album, Only Through the Pain. When most people think of the album, many of them think of the son, "Who's Going Home With You Tonight?" I feel their latest single, however, deserves greater attention. It is called, "Contagious."

The Grammar Club never seems to disappoint me with their music. Their latest song, a version of "Red Cyclone," never fails to get me pumped up. Like always, they offer a free download of their song on their website.

I apologize for my absence recently. College started up and took all my time and attention. I appreciate all of the emails that I have still been receiving and I want to assure you that I read every single one of them. I have definitely been receiving some good content from up and coming bands which I really appreciate. I hope to place my favorites on the next few posts, so keep sending them in! Mammal, Pinback, Tantric

Recently I discovered a band that has blown my mind. Mammal is a great new band based out of Australia. Ever since I first entered their myspace page, I have been hooked to their music. They recently released their first studio album, "The Majority," on September 4th. The song I will be previewing here is the title track off of the album. If you like what you hear, I definitely recommend that you visit their website and listen to their other songs, you won't be disappointed.

Tantric released their third studio album "The End Begins," on April of this year. They are probably most known for having an electric violin in the group which brings a unique sound unlike many other rock bands. Their single "Down and Out" has gained them international recognition. The song I will be featuring from them today is "The One," which was suggested to me by a viewer.

Pinback is actually a band that has been around for quite a while. I just recently discovered them, however. I was very impressed with their song "Fortress." Though it isn't necessarily new, I felt that it was still worth mentioning.

InnerPartySystem, The Voyces, Family Force 5

Formally known as The Takeover, InnerPartySystem is quickly making their rise in the music industry. Their newest single, "Don't stop," which is featured here today, was chosen to be a song in the new Madden 2009 game. The band themselves signed a deal to play during the Project Revolution Tour, The Wireless Festival, Lollapalooza, and a series of Club NME shows. Their newest album, "Die Tonight, Live Forever," is set to be released on September 29th, with their title track set to be released on September 22nd. Check back around that time and I am sure I will feature their new single. That is of course, if they can make it as good as this one.

I am proud to present this next band. It is a little slower than a lot of the songs that have been previously featured here, but is still a great listen. The Voyces are an up and coming band that was actually referred to me by a viewer of the website. I would recommend checking out the band. They have more of their music up for download on their website.

Family Force 5 is back with their latest, recently released album, "Dance or Die." These guys are a blast to watch live and I will be sure not to miss their next appearance in Atlanta. Though their latest album isn't their best, it is still worth listening to. This is one of their latest singles, "Fever."

Metallica, 10 Years, Rise Against

With the summer slowing down, new music is becoming more rare. However, this week has been pretty big on new music. Metallica recently released their newest song, "The Day that Never Comes." It comes from their upcoming album "Death Magnetic," which is set to be released September the 12th of this year. This song definitely isn't my favorite from them, but I will have to hear it a couple more times before I make my final judgement.

10 Years have been having a lot of success lately. Their new album has a lot of good stuff on it, so I figured that I would share another one of their songs off of their latest album they released in May, "Division." They toured this summer on the Project Revolution Tour, which featured such bands as Linkin Park, Ashes Divide, and Chris Cornell.

Rise Against has been busy this summer with performing at the Warped Tour and putting the finishing touches on their latest album which is set to be released on October 7th, 2008. This is a track from this album called, "Re-Education(Through Labor)"

Shiny Toy Guns, Chevelle, Ra

The Shiny Toy Guns recently released their newest song, "Ricochet." After hearing it twice in a row on my radio, I still found myself wanting more. It is simply a terrific song. The band is on their third woman singer, and she sounds better than ever. She calls herself Sisely Treasure. Whether or not that is her real name is a mystery to me, but I like it. Anyways, without further ado, here is Shiny Toy Guns' new single, "Ricochet."

Lately I have been listening to a lot of Chevelle. A lot of their good songs has missed the public eye for one reason or another, and I wanted to feature my favorite song out of all of their albums, which happens to come from their newest album, "Vena Sera." This is "Straight Jacket Fashion."

Another great band that has yet surprisingly not yet emerged into the full public eye is Ra, one of my personal favorite bands. I personally believe that they are way underrated. Previously I featured their newest song from their album due out in the next few months. This time t was harder to pick out a song to feature, but eventually I decided to show you all another popular song from them, "Do You Call My Name."

The Offspring, Flobots, M.I.A.

The Offspring recently released their newest album, "Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace" on June 17th of this year. Listening to the album, I heard a lot of different styles. Some songs sound like a new style of Offspring, while others are slower, ballad like songs, while yet in others The Offspring returns to their roots to create music that sounds a lot like their older music. Needless to say, I love their old style type songs. Don't get me wrong though, the whole album is nearly flawless. I enjoy all of the songs off of the album and have listened through the album multiple times already. This is my favorite song off of the album, which in my opinion, reflects off of some of the older offspring style.

This next band is an upcoming band that is rising among the ranks quickly. Though you probably only know them for their most popular song, "Handlebars," the Flobots have a lot of songs that could become hits. I believe the best quality about these guys is their ability to write good lyrics. Listen for yourself in my favorite song from them, "Standup."

This next band is also looking to boost their popularity. Recently they have been known for their song, "Paper Planes," either through the movie Pineapple Express, or other sources. M.I.A. actually has a lot of great songs, and I do not think that this will be a one hit wonder band for sure. This is my favourite song from them, "Bucky Done Gone."

Shwayze, Tickle Me Pink, Santogold

This first band is not one that you would think would be on this website at all. Shwayze is an alternative hip hop artist straight out of Malibu, California. Some of you might recognize him from his TV show on MTV called Buzzin', which debuted on July 23rd. Shwayze is an up and coming band with a lot of potential. With songs like this one, Buzzin, which features Cisco, I don't think he will have any problems gaining fans and recognition.

This next band is also a band that is up and coming. They call themselves Tickle Me Pink, which I find pretty odd. They formed up less than two years ago in Fort Collins. The same day the band released their debut album (July 1st), the bassist, Johnny Schou, was found dead by the frontman of the band, Sean Kennedy. You can find an interview about the band through their website. This is their first single, "Typical."

This last band is yet another up and coming one. It is also something that you would not expect from this site. I decided to get a little creative today. I first heard this song on my XM satellite radio, and it really caught my attention. After looking up more about her, I found out that she was the lead singer of a punk band in her earlier years. Now she is on her own, and is doing well with a new genre of music and being on her own. This is her newest single, "L.E.S. Artistes."

State of Shock, One Day as a Lion, Smashing Pumpkins

State of Shock is a Canadian based band from Vancouver, British Columbia. Although they introduced their debut album in 2004, they really did not gain much recognition until they released their second album in 2007, "Life, Love and Lies." During the summer of 2007, they toured with such bands as Nickelback and Puddle of Mudd. This is their most famous song and first single off of their second album, "Money Honey."

One Day as a Lion is a new band consisting of Rage Against the Machine's frontman Zack de la Rocha and the drummer of The Mars Volta, Jon Theodore. The band uses no guitar or bass, just simply the drums of Theodore and the vocals and electronic keyboards from Zack de la Rocha. They just released their first album on the 18th of this month. This is the first single from the album, "Wild International."

This next song really intrigued me. I first heard this song on the new watchmen movie trailer. I asked everyone I knew if they had any idea what this song was. After a little asking around and researching I found that the song was actually a slower version of the Smashing Pumpkins' "The Beginning is the End is the Beginning." I am really loving the slower version of the song.

Ra, The Razorblade Dolls, Sevendust

Ra is a very talented rock group. They are both self produced and self managed. Ra is considered by many to be the most underrated rock group, as they really have not hit mainstream everywhere. Though they formed in 1996, they are still releasing music, with their newest album due out September 6th of this year. I recommend checking these guys out through their myspace page. They have quite a few hits and good songs. The song that I will be showing you today is off their newest album, which is shaping up to be one of their best. This is entitled, "Broken Hearted Soul."

The Razorblade Dolls are an up and coming metal / industrial band formed in 2006. They recently released their newest album and are looking to gain more popularity. This is their first single that can now be heard through radio stations across America. It is called, "They Kill."

Sevendust is out on tour now with Alter Bridge and Soulidium. They recently released their seventh studio album "Chapter VII: Hope & Sorrow." This is another track from that album, entitled, "The Past." It is a bit softer than their other music. This song features Chris Daughtry, the lead singer from the band Daughtry.

Royal Bliss, Decyfer Down, Lo Pro

Royal bliss is a band that originally formed in Salt Lake City, Utah eleven years ago. Since then, they have released a total of seven studio albums, which is amazing considering the extremely bad luck these guys have suffered. Neal, the lead vocalist, fell 35 feet off of a balcony and nearly died. Doctors told him that he would never walk again. He decided he didn't like that outcome, and rehabilitated himself from almost complete paralysis of the lower half of his body. Chris, the guitarist, punctured his face in a skiing accident which caused him to need facial reconstructive surgery. Taylor, the other guitarist, broke his foot. The band also had to deal with a few totaled cars, lawsuits, the drummer becoming a father, and failed recording sessions. Somehow they are still together to this day and plan to release an album August 5th entitled, "Life In Between." This is their first single, "Save Me."

Decyfer Down is a Christian rock band that has had lots of success in the Christian to p music charts with four number one hits. The song I will be showing you today is the song they will be using to attempt to receive the fifth number one Christian hit song. Their newest album, "Crash," will be hitting stores on September 16th of this year. This song is entitled, "Crash."

Lo Pro is considered a very underrated underground band by many. Signed by Staind's Aaron Lewis back in 2003, they have been working their way up to mainstream and gaining many fans along the way. Many of the band members are already rock veterans, with Godsmack's orginal drummer, Tommy Stewart, being the most notable. This is my favorite song by them, "Not Me."

Head, Shinedown, Staind

Staind is a band that has been around for quite some time now. They have had a good bit of success in their music since they decided to form up in 1995 in Springfield, Massachusetts. Staind says they will be releasing their newest album, "The Illusion of Progress," while out on tour with 3 Doors Down this summer. After their touring with 3 Doors Down is over, they plan to go on tour with Nickelback in Europe. "Believe," is Staind's first single off their newest album.

Shinedown recently released their newest album, "The Sound of Madness." I definitely recommend this album to everyone. They have a lot of good songs. Some of them are a harder rock such as "Devour," and some of them a softer rock, such as this song. Shinedown demonstrates that they can do both really well with this album. They are currently on tour with 12 Stones and Rev Theory. This song is entitled, "What a Shame."

Head is a band I have just recently come across. After hearing this song, I was gained interest in them. I scoured the internet for about an hour looking for more information about the band and was unsuccessful. If you have any information on the band feel free to contact me at admin@new-rock-music.com. In the meantime, here is the song I was talking about, "Flush."

Story of the Year, The Grammar Club, Family Force 5

Story of the Year is a band that has really been around for quite some time now. I never really payed much attention to them for some reason, until I saw them yesterday at the Vans Warped Tour. They put on a fantastic show, and sparked my interest in them. They sounded terrific live and got the whole crowd into the performance as well. After listening to a few of their songs when I arrived back home, I picked out one of my favorites, which I featured below. I recommend checking them out.

The Grammar Club is a band that I have featured before. If you missed the post, The Grammar Club is an up and coming band with a unique style of music that is catchy and grasps your attention. After listening to their complete album which they allow you to download free on their website. This is "balloon flight."

Along with Story of the Year, this band, Family Force 5, put on an amazing show. The Family Force 5 show was probably the most fun I have had in a while. Their music is great to both dance, mosh, and just generally rock out to. It's extremely versatile and just makes for an overall great show. This particular song is my favorite that they played. It's entitled "Never Let Me Go."

Econoline Crush, Slipknot, Puddle of Mud

Puddle of Mud has had tremendous success with their latest album, "Famous," which was released late in 2007. Already they have had three very successful singles, "Famous, Psycho, and We Don't Have to Look Back Now," which can all still be heard on the radio. On top of that, their newest single (which is the song that is going to be shown) is already commanding respect. This is Puddle of Muds biggest year as they earn a lot of fame, fortune, and respect for their music. This track is entitled, "Livin' on Borrowed Time."

Some of you older viewers might recognize this next band from around a decade ago. Econoline Crush, the second band for today, just recently got back together after close to a six year break. They worked diligently for about a year on their newest album, which was released on January 15th of this year. The album is entitled, "Ignite." This is my favorite song which also happens to be their first single, "Surefire."

This last band, Slipknot, was just recently featured. The last time I posted about them was for their first single for their upcoming album due out on the 26th of August. Turns out they released two of their songs from the album, so I decided that I would post the other one. I like this a lot better than the previous one. The song is called "Psychosocial."

The White Stripes, Scouting for Girls, Coheed and Cambria

The White StripesThe White Stripes have really grown on me recently. I used to not be fan of the two man (well, one man and one woman) band. Lately I have been listening to the first song I will be presenting to you today, "A Martyr for my Love for You," and have been enjoying it thoroughly. A two person band is not something you come across often, so they deserve a lot of respect not only for pulling it off, but being able to create such amazing music with this seemingly handicap. "A Martyr for my Love for You" is The White Stripes' newest single off their newest album released last year, "Icky Thump."

This next band, Scouting for Girls, is a London based up and coming band. Their self-titled debut album hit #1 in England. Their music is now traveling to the states where they are also becoming big. Their name actually comes from a play on words of the Scouting for Boys handbook, which provides young boys on good citizenship, first published in 1908. This is my favorite song from them, "She's so lovely."

The last band today is also one that I did not like upon first hearing. Their singers voice is oddly high for a man, and their looks are a bit wacky, and dare I say out of date...if it was ever in. The band I am talking about is Coheed and Cambria. Though the singing is a little wacky, I can't help but give in to the music and enjoy it. It really grows on you. This is their newest single, "The Suffering."

Does it Offend You, Yeah?, Metro Station, 3 Doors Down

This first band, "Does it Offend You, Yeah?" is a british electro rock band. They make good use of synths in their vocals to produce a unique sound that you cannot help but like. The group is probably most known for their live shows in which the group members are often seen breaking instruments and stage diving. Does it Offend You, Yeah? will be opening for part of the upcoming North American Nine Inch Nails tour, which I personally cannot wait for. The most interesting thing about this band, in my opinion, is that they got their name off of T.V. show The Office. One day they decided that they were going to name themselves after the first line someone said on TV after they turned it on. Does it Offend You, Yeah? Happened to be the line. This is Does it Offend You, Yeah?'s new single, "We Are Rockstars."

Metro Station is a relatively new band out of Hollywood, California. This band is up and coming and I have no doubt in my mind that this band will become bing in no time. Back in March they featured different fan videos on their myspace. The one I will be showing you today is the first featured fan video for Metro Station's "Shake it." The video itself is brilliant, and I know even if you do not enjoy the music, the video will not fail to make you smile and make your day.

The last song I will be featuring today is a new song from Three Doors Down. The song is entitled "Train." This is already their second single from their newest album, which was released May 20th of this year. I have a feeling that this will not be the last song from them that we will be hearing on the radio, however.
